Heavy Disability Woes

Postby pakrat » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:15 am

I know of a woman who is confined to an electric wheelchair. Now admittedly she is quite large so she couldn't go into a really streamlined chair but the one she has must be 20 years old and is big, ugly, and clunky. There must surely be a way to make a smaller battery that will store as much charge as the big ones they now have. She also says she has trouble getting large adult size nappies and again it is just another example of penny pinching and disregard for people with disabilities.

If you have access to her post box or another way of getting information to her I suggest showing her some of the http://www.Permobil.com Heavy Duty chairs and http://Invacare.com.au Heavy duty chairs. I know that there are chairs that support up to 500lbs and still remain pretty streamlined. I am not saying it is going to look like a ferrari but it ain't gonna be a big honking chair that screams "LOOK AT ME! I AM FAT!"

About the nappy problem, I have no input there since I don't know anything about that.

What country she live in? Australia like you?
