New diagnosis...

Postby harvester52 » Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:09 am

I went to the doctor today for the first time in five years. It was an excellent appointment, and my new PCP is amazing. However, I found out that I have osteoarthritis, which has caused my knee and hand problems. I also have asthma, which was causing my 'awake snoring' as my friends called it. I always thought it was because I was overweight, but apparently, I inherited bad asthma from my mom. Ugh.

The good news is... I got a referral to a therapist, so I can eventually get hormones and all that involved with gender transition. I also got put on anti-anxiety pills so I won't have as bad of panic attacks. I got two different inhalers to get my asthma under control so I can breathe better, and possibly sing better, too. Also... my doctor's great.

Man that sucks. I hope that you can get yourself some good pain control pills, maybe get some small leg surgery to loosen the muscles, and possibly even a muscle relaxant to relax them. There are thankfully a lot of things that modern medical technology can do for you.
